It’s natural to feel a little lost. You don’t have to find your way alone.
At our core, I believe in blending the Eastern value of connection with others and the Western focus on individuality—an approach especially meaningful when living abroad or navigating cultural differences.
I understand that truly knowing ourselves or others isn’t always easy. But by reflecting on our personal histories—our family background, the way we were raised, and the life experiences that have shaped us—we can begin to make sense of our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
Counselling offers a safe space to explore these dimensions.
By viewing ourselves and others with greater depth and compassion, I open the door to self-acceptance, stronger relationships, and personal growth.

Hello, I’m Daim, a counsellor offering therapy in both English and Korean. I believe that seeking support is a courageous step, and my role is to walk alongside you as you navigate life’s challenges. I work integratively, drawing on different therapeutic approaches to suit your unique needs, whether you’re looking for short-term support or longer-term exploration.
I am qualified and registered counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
As a BACP member, I follow the highest ethical standards and am dedicated to providing a safe, empathetic, and confidential space where clients can explore their concerns without fear of judgment.
In my practice, I specialise in supporting clients who are dealing with anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, grief and bereavement, childhood trauma, and depression. My clinical experience within the NHS has equipped me to work effectively with a wide range of mental health issues, including crisis intervention, ongoing emotional support, and navigating complex family or interpersonal dynamics.
I have also supported clients from diverse backgrounds and cultures, addressing the impact of racism and navigating relationships in mixed families. Many people come to me for help with relationship difficulties, work- and study-related stress, and questions around identity and sexuality.
User-Centred Design Expertise in the Therapy Room:
With over 15 years of experience in User Experience Design, Research, and mentoring, I bring a fresh perspective to therapy by designing user-centred, supportive spaces that inspire clients to explore and express their emotions in creative ways.
My approach to therapy is grounded in genuine curiosity, active listening, and cultural awareness. I strive to move beyond conventional notions of accessibility and inclusion by co-creating environments—both online and in person—where clients experience a deep sense of safety, trust, and belonging. My goal is to help each person build authentic connections with themselves and others, laying the foundation for meaningful growth and healing.

I believe therapy is about gaining a better understanding of oneself so that one can identify underlying issues, find ways to cope, and work towards healing. My practice is grounded in psychodynamic theory, whilst I embrace an integrative approach incorporating mindfulness and humanistic techniques to tailor therapy to each individual's needs.

I use an integrative approach, understanding that everyone has their own unique areas for growth, which we can explore and address in a holistic, personalised way.

You’re welcome to begin with a free 15-minute initial consultation. This gives us the opportunity to discuss your needs, explore how we might work together, and decide on the best way forward.
If you prefer, you can book your first full session straight away — either online or in person. I’ll then get in touch to confirm our first appointment, which will include your free 15-minute consultation.
Each counselling session lasts 50 minutes and usually takes place once a week. Keeping a regular schedule helps to build consistency, trust, and a supportive therapeutic relationship.
If you miss your first booked session without notice, your counselling arrangement will be considered terminated.
As we continue working together, we will explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at a pace that feels right for you. Therapy is a collaborative process — I will support you in gaining deeper self-understanding, developing new perspectives, and finding ways to manage challenges more effectively. Over time, this ongoing work can help you build greater self-awareness, resilience, and emotional wellbeing.

I offer both online and in-person sessions. Regardless of the format, our work together is guided by the BACP Ethical Framework. Daim Counsellor provides supportive counselling in English and Korean, helping you navigate challenges, build resilience, and find balance in life.
